NewsNorth County Churches Recognize Room at the Inn for Efforts Toward Racial Harmony and Social JusticeTue, Jun 30th, 2009
“We congratulate the Sisters of Divine Providence and Room at the Inn for their dedication to social justice,” said Dr. Barbara Thompson, NCCU executive board member. “We honor Room at the Inn for its service to the community and its work to erase inequality and injustice. We are proud to share this mission with Room at the Inn.” Room at the Inn Program Director Joann Nowak, OSF said, “Scripture calls us to be compassionate, and our religions tradition teaches us that every person has a fundamental right to the necessities of life, including things such as employment, health care, education… and shelter.
